ABOUT THE CLUB

For People Whose
Dogs Are Family.

The Dog Mom Club started from a pretty simple place: I love dogs, and I know I’m not the only one who feels like life is just better with them in it. Dog people are their own kind of people. We plan around them, talk about them too much, take way too many pictures, and somehow don’t think any of that is weird.

This brand is for the women and men who see their dogs as family and wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s meant to be warm, funny, relatable, and full of heart. So much in life is stressful and busy. I wanted a little corner of yours that isn’t.

Is it a little silly? Yes. Is it sorely needed? Also yes.

“I wanted to create something just for dog people — something sweet, silly, and full of heart that makes you smile when it shows up in the mail.”

Angela Schimmels — Founder of The Dog Mom Club

The Community Side

The Dog Mom Club isn’t just a mailer. It’s a little corner of the internet built around the people (and pups) who make it worth it.

Angela regularly features interviews with dog-loving humans: rescue volunteers, business owners, veterinary professionals, and dog trainers. These go live on Facebook, and Zoom guests are always welcome from anywhere in the country.

Facebook Live Interviews — occasional chats with rescue volunteers, local business owners, and dog-world experts

Open to Virtual Guests — know someone who’d make a great interview? Angela would love to connect, wherever you are

Rescue Spotlights — groups and pups across the country featured in The Monthly Wag

Real Ways to Help — fostering, donating, and volunteering, no matter your schedule or location

THE HEART BEHIND THE DOG MOM CLUB

Angela Schimmels is a dog mom through and through, the kind who talks about her pups like they’re people (because they basically are). The Dog Mom Club grew out of her belief that dog people deserve something made just for them: warm, funny, and a little ridiculous in the best possible way.

She hand-addresses every envelope herself, which tells you pretty much everything you need to know about how much she means it.

Angela

Q

Angela

I moved from California to Houston in 2005 and have called this area home ever since. I’ve been married for almost 30 years and have owned a successful sign company for two decades, building a reputation around creativity, community, and showing up for people. But ask anyone who knows me, and they’ll tell you dogs are a huge part of my heart. For more than a decade, I’ve been involved with Operation Pets Alive, supporting rescue dogs, adoption events, and the people who love them. My passion for pups and rescue work is what inspired me to create this club.

Miss Nona

Q

Miss Nona

Miss Nona came to us after being hit by a car and having had her back legs broken. Operation Pet's Alive rescued her and got her all better but they were in need of a foster to help nurse her back to health. Having seen the facebook post about this ON my grandma's birthday , June 2nd, and her name being Nona (that was what I called MY grandma), I knew it was fate . I called the President within days and said "she's mine"

Lord Tyrion

Q

Lord Tyrion

Lord Tyrion was part of a litter of 9 pups that Operation Pet's Alive found back during COVID in 2020 and were having trouble placing the pups. My husband fell in love with him and his little stubby legs (hence the name). He's now what we call our "wanna be husky" as he howls with the best of them and is super protective of his sis though they are the same age.
